| This colorful fine art jewelry is both dramatic and playful. Bridging the worlds of contemporary and tribal art while utilizing nontraditional materials, it represents the best in the current studio jewelry movement. This jewelry is made of silver frames with a mosaic inlay of glass beads and/or glass cane. The glass elements are bonded in a matrix of tile grout or wax encaustic, as described under the heading Design Process. Descriptions of catches and findings are listed below.
BROOCHES
Spring loaded, tie-tack fasteners are used, rather than traditional bar pin backs, to keep the brooch flat and stable on a garment with no risk of loss.
EARRINGS
The posts and backs are sterling silver. The backs (ear nuts) are extra large. Clips or gold posts can be special ordered for an additional charge (see "variations" on the individual product page).
BRACELETS
The clasp used is a toggle, wherein one end fits through a hole in the other end, adding an interesting design element while maintaining a purity of design.
NECKLACES
The clasp used is either a toggle (like the bracelets) or a simple hook. |
